How long dental implants take: from the first visit to the smile
A real calendar: consultation, surgery, healing, crown. Why "a few months" is the honest answer, what shortens it and what lengthens it. Tursunov Clinic cases and a patient review (2GIS, 25.09.2025). Izen 80,000 ₸ instead of 120,000.
Key points
- A single implant, start to finish, usually takes 3 to 6 months: the surgery itself is one visit, the rest is healing and making the crown.
- Enough bone and healthy gums shorten the timeline; bone grafting, a sinus lift, smoking and missed check-ups lengthen it.
- At Tursunov Clinic the consultation is free (a CBCT scan is 11,000 ₸ per the price list); an Izen implant is 80,000 ₸ instead of 120,000, Straumann from 410,000 ₸.
- A clinic patient describes her journey in a 2GIS review as "a few months" — and that is the typical timeline.
The calendar for a single-tooth implant
Consultation and scan — one visit: examination, CBCT, plan and estimate; the consultation is free, CBCT 11,000 ₸. Not everyone needs preparation: extraction, treatment of neighbouring teeth, bone grafting or a sinus lift add anywhere from nothing to 4–6 months.
Implant placement is one visit under local anaesthesia, 30–60 minutes. Healing, when the implant fuses with the bone, takes 2–4 months in the lower jaw and 3–6 in the upper; on the outside there is a cover screw or a temporary crown in the meantime. Then a healing abutment for 1–2 weeks, and impressions and the permanent crown — another 1–2 weeks and two visits.
In total, without preparation, 3–6 months; with bone grafting, up to a year. The doctor gives the exact calendar after the scan.
What shortens it and what lengthens it
Faster: enough bone, healthy gums, a non-smoker, placement immediately after extraction, a temporary crown on the day of surgery if the implant is stable. Slower: lack of bone (grafting adds months), smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, missed check-ups.
For a full jaw under All-on-4/5 protocols the calendar is different: a temporary bridge in the first days, the permanent one after healing; in one of the clinic's cases a permanent bridge on a titanium bar was fixed a week after surgery.
A clinic patient's experience
In a 2GIS review dated 25 September 2025 a patient writes that she chose the clinic from an advertisement, had implants placed, and that a few months later she now has a beautiful smile. "A few months" is not a delay but the norm: the implant has to fuse with the bone before it is loaded. Her timeline is her case; for a patient who needs bone grafting it will be longer.
What comes next: how long they last
The calendar does not end with the crown. In one of the clinic's cases a patient returned five years after implant treatment — the implants placed back then were working, and treatment was needed for a different reason (published 13.11.2024). A check-up every six months and cleanings are what keep that result.
How much it costs
Implant systems per the price list: Izen (Korea) 80,000 ₸ instead of 120,000 on promotion; Straumann (Switzerland) BLT 410,000, BLX 450,000, Tissue Level 500,000 ₸. The abutment and crown are priced separately; a written stage-by-stage estimate is given. Instalments: Kaspi Red 0-0-24, Halyk 0-0-12.
Timelines are individual and determined by the doctor from the scan and the state of the bone. The review and the cases describe specific patients' experience.

Frequently asked questions
Will I be without a tooth all those months?
No — front teeth get a temporary crown, back teeth sometimes go without one; the doctor decides.
Can it be sped up?
Only by protocol (immediate placement, immediate loading) when conditions allow; healing itself cannot be "sped up".
How many visits in total?
Usually 5–7 over the whole course, including check-ups.
What if I miss a check-up?
The risk is not catching inflammation in time; reschedule the visit rather than waiting for the next one.
